The 6.8 mile procession from St. Mary to St. Alice will depart St. Mary at 2pm. The procession will travel through downtown Eugene, Alton Baker Park via the North Bank Trail, and downtown Springfield to St. Alice where it will conclude with Benediction.

At this week's Requiem Mass for Pope Francis at the Cathedral in Portland, Archbishop Sample reflected on the late pontiff’s life, recalling his courageous witness to the Resurrection of Christ. He emphasized Pope Francis’ profound humility and mercy, noting, “He would not want us to canonize him—he would want us to pray for him.”
Archbishop Sample will speak at this year’s Oregon March for Life on May 17 at the State Capitol in Salem. For over 50 years, Oregon Right to Life has united advocates to honor lives lost to abortion and to encourage support for mothers choosing life. Moving the event from January to May highlights a renewed focus on advancing pro-life efforts within Oregon, especially through the state legislature.
Since 1935, the Archbishop’s Seminary Tea has been a cherished tradition supporting the education of seminarians in the Archdiocese of Portland. This year’s event will be held on May 7, 2025, from 3-6 PM at the Portland Golf Club.
