The Knights of Columbus are bringing a relic of their founder, Fr. Michael J. McGivney, to Oregon! A parish priest, Fr. McGivney founded the Knights of Columbus in 1882 in New Haven, CT, to help men financially support their families at a time when workplace fatalities were common. His legacy lives on as the Knights of Columbus continue to address the needs of today. Now, more than ever, the world needs virtuous Catholic men ready to serve God, the Church, and their families—a mission the Knights are well-equipped to fulfill.
Over the past 150 years, Fr. McGivney has influenced the lives of more than two million Catholic men. It is our great hope that he will one day be canonized. Beatified in 2020, he needs one more approved miracle for sainthood. By bringing his relic to Oregon, we pray many lives will be transformed—and if it is God’s will, perhaps the needed miracle will come from here.
We invite all faithful Catholics to venerate his relic at one of the tour sites. Each of us could use transformation in our lives.
Blessed McGivney, pray for us!
