Paul is one of many individuals who have been impacted by the Courage apostolate, which provides a much-needed spiritual support system and assists men and women with same-sex attractions in living chaste lives in fellowship, truth and love. Paul has shared his story across the country, and he was recently featured in the film "Desire of the Everlasting Hills," which was distributed to the bishops of the USCCB. As we begin a Courage/Encourage chapter here in the Archdiocese of Portland, Paul's testimony is an opportunity to learn more about how this ministry can bear fruit in our local church. To that end, while the presentation is open to all, we do encourage clergy, pastoral staff and key volunteers to attend, so they may share the word about Courage in their parishes.
With the endorsement of the Holy See, Courage now has more than 100 Chapters and contact people world-wide and hundreds of persons per week receiving assistance from the main office and website. It has become a mainstream Catholic Apostolate helping thousands of men and women find peace through fellowship, prayer, and the Sacraments.
(and note that this event is free).
