In this workshop, Fr. Carey will review the psychological literature on how to help people who are suicidal. Specifically, we will look at causes of suicide and strategies for pastoral help. There will be many opportunities for Q&A throughout the workshop.
Fr. Carey, a priest of the Archdiocese of Portland, is adjunct professor of pastoral counseling at Mount Angel Seminary Graduate School of Theology. He serves as a counselor to priests and religious, and he maintains an active international lecture and retreat schedule. His doctorate is in clinical psychology.
