The Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women will host Mary O'Callaghan on Mon., Mar. 13th. Mary will talk about raising her family to cherish a special needs child. She maintains that women deserve better, than to be given the advice to seek abortiom, when a condition, such as Downs Syndrome is identified. She met her husband, John while earning a PhD in Deveopmental Psychology at Notre Dame. He is now Chair of the Maritain Schoof of Philosophy at ND. All of these circumatances have combined, to prepare her to be an advocate for the unborn and particuarly for the ones with special needs. Mary's family was in Rome, last year, for a special Mass and gathering, presided over by Pope Frances. Following the Mass, The Holy Father walked over to where Thomas was sitting and embraced him, as well as other members of a specially invited group. Usually shy with new people, he turned to his mother and said "Oh Mommy, Wow!"
